As member of Medtronic’s Executive team, President of Cardiac Surgery and President of Europe and Central Asia, Oern has been responsible for transforming the Cardiac Surgery business and accelerated the growth of  Medtronic’s businesses in Europe including franchises’ in cardiovascular, neurological and spine.

Prior to Medtronic Oern has worked for Abbott Laboratories where he held positions of Regional Director and General Manager in the Netherlands and the Nordic countries.

Prior thereto, Oern has served as CEO for Medinor A/S, a Norwegian medical technology company.

Oern is a member of the  Board of Eucomed, the European Industry Association for Medical devices and the Supervisory Board of Mediq B.V., an international retail and distribution company for pharmaceuticals and medical supplies.
Oern received his MBA from IMD in Lausanne.
